Digital Object Management and Ingest to Thai Research Archives Repository (TRAR)
Digital Object Management and Ingest to Thai Research Archives Repository (TRAR) is a plan to trace the repository development and types of resources available at service, such as official letters, images, clippings, directories, books, articles, minutes and electronic journals.
The digital object management may include ingest plan and goal protocol, NRCT authorization procedure to import various archive document, information resources media conversion method, and ingest process. Communication for public relation and general user announcement is planned to showcase repository work progress and converse with public users regarding any usage problems through official Facebook Page.
TRAR information resources media conversion and digital object management aims to follow the international standards that also reflects to the existing objectives including:
- The original archives document to be preserved shall be scanned and saved in TIFF format with resolution at 600 dpi and in size 1024 x 768 pixels and above.
- The scanned file is converted to a compact format for publication ie. JPEG format and PDF file with resolution range of 72-300 dpi and in size 1240 x 720 pixels and above.
TRAR Ingest Procedures explain in step-by-step from the document selection, categorization to ingest process following ISAD(G) standard in the AtoM system. There are 9 elements that must be defined in the ingest process including; file description, context description, content and structure description, access and usage rights, related object description, other description or remarks on access point, restrictions on file description, admin panel, and ingest information review. These processes are set to ensure that a digital object is complete and eligible to acquire DOI for permanent access.
